Sunrise over the Appalachians

Having a special place to experience a spectacular sunrise can be both spiritual and invigorating. Watching as Mother Nature awakens to begin a new day, the black starry sky turns to shades of blue. A burst of pink, purple, yellow, orange, and red splashes which are unique with each sunrise and change with each passing second. There is an old saying; “The only thing constant is change” this is very evident in a sunrise.

We are very fortunate to have found just such a special place in the southern Appalachian Mountains. We make the pilgrimage to our spiritual healing spot and recharge our internal energies as we bask in the early dawns light.

Perched high atop a rocky cliff we have a beautiful view of the broad river valley nearly one thousand feet below. In the distance (a span of approximately one mile, peak to peak) are mountains four to five thousand feet above sea level that provide us with a unique and varied horizon. As the earth rotates on it’s axis the sun rises at a different spot each day adding to the anticipation and exhilaration.
